Our impact
As featured in the Sunday Independent, on Cork’s 96FM, and recognised with the Startup Atlas ‘Best Overall’ award and a place on Ireland’s New Frontiers programme.
Chess4Schools Live
Chess4Schools Live is a live, online chess lesson broadcast straight into your classroom. One expert coach teaches many classrooms at the same time — children watch on the board or projector, follow the moves in real time, and play along together. It’s the reach of a national programme with the feel of having a coach in the room.
The teacher doesn’t need to know chess. Our coach leads every minute of the session.

Skills beyond the chessboard
Chess gives children an enjoyable way to develop skills that support their learning, relationships and confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Children learn to slow down, focus their attention and consider each move carefully.
Each game develops planning, logical thinking and the ability to respond to new challenges.
Pupils gain confidence by making independent decisions and seeing their progress over time.
Playing together encourages patience, respect, communication and healthy competition.

Teacher feedback
Hear from the teachers and school leaders who have seen the positive impact chess can have in the classroom.
"Fridays have become something the boys really look forward to. Being a DEIS school, attendance can sometimes be an issue — but every Friday the boys come bouncing into school excited for chess."
"Not only have they developed their chess skills, but they've also learned valuable life skills — respect, patience, taking turns. Some are even asking for chess boards for their birthdays!"
"You are an excellent teacher and the children really warmed to you. Chess has come up as their favourite activity in the whole year."
